Beneficiaries

These are:

• Organisations (providing innovative tools for facilitators working with youth groups)
• Educators
• Learners (ages 8 - 14)
• Parents (Learners take materials home to share with family)
• Department of Education (complementing curriculum, supporting HIV&AIDS integrated approach strategy and contributing to teacher training efforts)

The educators will be trained to:

• Facilitate interactive lessons which openly address HIV&AIDS related issues;
• Converse openly about these issues;
• Develop their own knowledge and understanding of HIV;
• Address sensitive issues concerning HIV&AIDS within the school environment;
• Develop HIV&AIDS policies in their schools;
• Be able to provide support for learners; and
• Use IT and other interactive materials as a medium for teaching.

Learners will be encouraged to:

• Talk about the body and growing up;
• Talk about HIV&AIDS;
• Make safe and informed life choices;
• Develop a positive self-awareness;
• Be expressive
• Care for and respect those with HIV&AIDS
• Know how to protect themselves and others;
• Consider HIV&AIDS across curriculum subjects;
• Develop their communication skills and interact with peers; and
• Grow their competence in IT.
